The International Skating Union (ISU) has signed a four-year deal that will see Dutch agency House of Sports seek to enhance the commercial performance of its leading speed skating events.
The contract will take in the 2018-19 to 2021-22 seasons and focus on the marketing of the World Cup Speed Skating Series and Speed Skating Championships, with the objective to strengthen partnership activations, increase fan engagement and generate new sponsorship revenues.
ISU president Jan Dijkema said: “We already have good experiences with House of Sports. The ISU World Allround Speed Skating Championships 2018 took place outdoors at the Olympic Stadium of Amsterdam, and they managed to fill the venue with more than 60,000 cheering supporters in total. We look forward to working with them during the new Olympic cycle.”
The 2018-19 World Cup Series is scheduled to commence on November 16-18 with an event in Obihiro, Japan; before moving to Harbin, China; Berlin, Germany; Heerenveen, the Netherlands and Hamar, Norway. The final is set for Salt Lake City in the US on March 9-10.
