IOC provides update on Russia and Belarus stance, delays Paris 2024 verdict

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has recommended that athletes from Russia and Belarus continue to compete under neutral flags, but a decision on their participation at next year’s Olympic Games in Paris has not yet been made.

In its meeting yesterday (Tuesday), the IOC executive board reiterated its condemnation of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, which it described as a “blatant violation” of the Olympic Truce that was in effect at the time, and of the Olympic Charter.
