Online sports betting provider Interwetten has signed as the Official and Exclusive Betting Partner of the Greek Super League for one season.
Under the deal, Interwetten will benefit from an advertising presence in all stadiums for every championship round of the Greek Super League – the leading club competition in Greece.
The visibility assets include LED board sequences and logo presence on the flash interview boards, micro-surfaces at press conferences and the ball platform.
In addition, fan activations will be carried out in the stadiums and spots can be played on the video wall. There will also be digital integrations with Greek Super League channels, as well as a broad hospitality package for every league match.
Interwetten already has a presence in Greece as the main shirt sponsor of Greek Super League club Asteras Tripolis.
Dominik Beier, speaker of the board at Interwetten, said: “Greece is and will remain a very important market for us. That’s why we want to continue to invest in the sport here and expand our position.
“The Super League is an ideal partner in this respect thanks to its national and weekly presence. It opens up a multitude of communication and activation opportunities for us throughout the country.”
The betting partner slot in the Greek Super League portfolio has gone unfilled since Greek betting and gaming operator OPAP was league title sponsor in a deal which expired at the end of the 2016-17 season.
Greek bottled water brand Souroti was the title partner from 2017-18 to 2018-19. Industry sources value the title rights at between €1m ($1.1m) and €2m per year.
SportBusiness Sponsorship understands that Interwetten did not consider the title rights because it now has a “good combination” of local (Asteras Tripolis) and national (Greek Super League) activities.
