International Rugby League (IRL), the sport’s global governing body, has reiterated that its focus is on the successful delivery of this year’s Rugby League World Cup, which is scheduled to take place in England from October 23 to November 27.
The IRL board met last week and has released a statement expressing its commitment to hosting the event on the scheduled dates. It comes amid growing optimism that UK sports events will be free to go ahead with fans later in the year as the Covid-19 vaccination roll-out continues apace.
