German insurance firm Europa Versicherungen has agreed a deal to sponsor handball’s men’s EHF Euro 2020 event, which will take place in Sweden, Austria and Norway.
As part of the agreement, the company’s logo will appear on the shirt sleeves of every player during the 24-team tournament.
The deal was brokered by the Infront agency, the EHF’s exclusive media and marketing agency.
Europa will also benefit from extensive brand exposure on television and in the arenas through LED panel advertising.
The tournament will run from January 9-26. It will mark the first time that 24 nations have taken part and the first time that three countries have co-hosted.
Home improvement and gardening company Bauhaus recently signed on as a sponsor of the event in a deal brokered by Infront that also incorporated the women’s competition, which takes place in Denmark and Norway from December 4-20 next year.
The European Handball Federation’s new 10-year media and marketing rights agreement with Infront and media company DAZN Group covers club and national team competitions and runs from 2020 to 2030. However, the agreement excludes the 2020 EHF Euros as they were part of a previous deal with Infront.
