India’s exit sets up Saudi Arabia to host 2027 Asian Cup

The Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAFF) is poised to secure hosting rights to the 2027 Asian Cup after the All India Football Federation (AIFF) decided to drop its bid as part of a strategic focus to develop the domestic game.

The AIFF stated that under a strategic roadmap for the federation due to be revealed later this month, the hosting of “big events” does not fit into its strategic priorities.
