The International Hockey Federation (FIH) has dialled down its threat of revoking India’s hosting rights for the forthcoming Men’s Hockey World Cup after an “extremely cordial and productive” meeting with Hockey India.

The FIH had threatened to strip the country’s hockey federation of its hosting rights for the tournament, which is due to be held in Bhubaneswar and Rourkela from January 13 to 29, following a governance dispute triggered by the downfall of former FIH president and Hockey India administrator Narinder Batra earlier this year.
