IMG signs LPGA former number one Tseng

IMG has today announced its signing of the women’s fifth-ranked golfer Yani Tseng.

The 24-year old Taiwanese golfer was ranked first in the world for 109 weeks from 2011 to 2013, and is the youngest player – male or female – to win five major championships. In 2009, she became the fastest player in LPGA (Ladies Professional Golfers’ Association) Tour history to reach the $2 million mark in career earnings.

Tseng said: “To me, IMG has the history in the business, the resources all around the world, and the leadership position in the industry to help me achieve all that I want to in my career. Working with IMG will allow me to focus on golf knowing that the important management and marketing decisions are taken care of.”

IMG will oversee management and marketing for Tseng with a focus on North America and Europe, while working in partnership with Nihao and Tseng Yani International, her current management companies, in Asia.
