Jean Claude Biver, chairman of Swiss luxury watchmaker Hublot, has been announced as the first speaker for the 2015 edition of the Leaders Sport Business Summit in New York, which takes place on March 4-5 at The TimesCenter in Manhattan.
Using the sports industry to carve out Hublot’s market position in the watchmaking world, Biver has helped the brand secure sponsorship deals with, amongst others, football clubs Manchester United, Bayern Munich, Juventus, Paris Saint-Germain and Ajax; along with NBA basketball teams the Los Angeles Lakers and Miami Heat.
Hublot has also provided watches to referees officiating at Uefa Euro 2008, served as the official watchmaker of Formula One, the official watch and official timekeeper for both F1 team Ferrari and the Euro 2012 tournament, and the official timekeeper of the 2010 and 2014 Fifa World Cups.
James Worrall, chief executive of Leaders, said: “As an expert in what it takes to drive a business to succeed, we look forward to welcoming Jean Claude to our New York stage and learning about how Hublot has used the power of sport to enhance their brand and enter new markets.”
