Host nation India has been forced to withdraw from the Women’s AFC Asian Cup after a Covid-19 outbreak within its squad meant it could not field a team against Chinese Taipei on Sunday.
Asian Football Confederation rules say teams must name at least 13 players in each matchday squad. India did not have 13 players available for the game, and the group-stage clash was cancelled and declared void.
