The Hong Kong Rugby Union (HKRU) is in “advanced talks” with government officials about hosting arrangements for the World Rugby Sevens Series event set to take place at Hong Kong Stadium later this year.

The seven-a-side rugby series has not been staged in Hong Kong since 2019 due to the Covid-19 pandemic but is scheduled to return to Hong Kong twice during the 2022-23 season. The first event, which will also mark the start of the 11-leg men’s season, is set to take place at Hong Kong Stadium from November 4 to 6.
