Spanish football club Atlético Madrid has renewed its sponsorship agreement with health brand Herbalife Nutrition, the main sponsor of its women’s team.
Building on an association which first began in March 2017, the sponsorship will now run for a further three seasons until the end of the 2022-23 campaign.
As part of the agreement, the company’s logo features on the front of the shirts of Atlético’s players and Herbalife Nutrition will also act as the nutrition consultant and supplier for the team.
During a remotely held press conference to announce the deal, Lola Romero, director of Atlético de Madrid Femenino, said: “It is something very special. Herbalife Nutrition has accompanied us in very important moments of the club and that it continues to be our main sponsor, to accompany us in these difficult moments, that further enhances this agreement.”
Herbalife is the long-running shirt sponsor of Major League Soccer side LA Galaxy.
Earlier this year, Spanish brand Realtrack Systems agreed a sponsorship deal with Atlético which incorporated the women’s and academy teams.
