Global transfer spending returning to pre-pandemic levels – Fifa report

The global transfer market is close to returning to pre-pandemic levels, according to the 2022 Global Transfer Market report published by world governing body Fifa.

A total of $6.5bn (€5.98bn) was spent by professional clubs on male players in 2022, up 33.5 per cent from $4.86bn in 2021 but still below the levels of $6.94bn in 2018 and and $7.35bn in 2019.
