The German Paralympic Committee (DBS) has extended its exclusive marketing partnership with the Deutsche Sport Marketing (DSM) agency.
Under the terms of the deal, DSM will continue to market the German Paralympic team’s sponsorship rights and provide strategic consultancy services.
A statement on DSM’s website indicated the agreement has now been expanded to include brand consultancy services. DSM will also help the DBS to build out its content capabilities and expand the organisation’s joint activation capabilities.
DSM has been the exclusive marketing agency for the DBS since 2007. The agency also markets the sponsorship rights for the German Olympic Sports Confederation (DSOB), allowing brands to work across the two properties.
In 2019, the two parties launched the ‘Team Germany’ brand, meaning all German athletes will compete under the same umbrella at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
DBS president Friedhelm Julius Beuche said: “The fact that Deutsche Sport Marketing is responsible for the marketing of both the German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB) and the German Paralympic Committee is a sign that Olympic and Paralympic sports are being treated at the same level.
“We are convinced that the continuation of this decades-long partnership will contribute to further strengthening Paralympic sport in Germany.”
Claudia Wagner, managing director, DSM, said: “We are proud to see the importance of Paralympic sport in the media, among our partners and in society. A major milestone was certainly the launch of the new Team Germany Paralympics brand in August 2019, which will offer us new and further marketing opportunities in the future.”
