German free-to-air audience tops 8m for RB Leipzig’s maiden triumph

Saturday evening’s DFB-Pokal final between RB Leipzig and Freiburg was watched by an average of 8.1 million viewers on German public-service television.

The audience on ARD was equal to a market share of 32.4 per cent as RB Leipzig won a penalty shootout to lift their first major trophy. The share among the target audience of 14 to 49 year olds was 37.5 per cent, according to figures from audience measurements firms AGF Videoforschung and GfK.
