Genius Sports named as Serie A’s global betting data partner

Sports data technology company Genius Sports has been appointed as the official betting data partner of Italian football’s top division, Serie A.

Lega Serie A, the organising body behind the league, has awarded the exclusive data collection rights to Betgenius, the sports book arm of Genius Sports Group.

Betgenius will capture match data via its in-stadium pitch side technology, distributing fast and accurate data from games to its global network of sports book partners.

Serie A has also announced that it will launch its first-ever rights enforcement initiative to protect the exclusivity of Genius’ data, focused on the identification and removal of unauthorised data collectors from stadiums.

Jack Davison, chief commercial officer of Genius Sports Group, said: “Our partnership with Serie A is another example where we work with the most important global sports competitions to ensure our sportsbook operators have complete confidence in the security of their data supply and that our organisation will deliver the most trusted and compelling betting products to operators around the world.”
