Private equity investment in tennis could help to pave the way for the ATP Tour, WTA Tour, International Tennis Federation (ITF) and four Grand Slams to aggregate their broadcast and betting rights, according to Andrea Gaudenzi, the ATP chairman proposing a unified commercial structure across the sport.
The Italian, who has completed the first phase of his ‘OneVision’ strategic plan and is up for re-election later this year, has been candid in his desire to pool together the rights in a bid to maximise tennis’ audience among a younger demographic and generate higher commercial returns.
