Serie A club AC Milan has named Giorgio Furlani as its new chief executive officer, replacing Ivan Gazidis, who announced earlier this week that he will step down next month.
Milan-born Furlani has served as a member of the AC Milan board of directors since 2018. He started his career as a financial analyst at Lehmann Brothers before moving in 2010 to Elliott Management, who sold AC Milan to fellow American investment fund RedBird Capital earlier this year.
