The French Tennis Federation (FFT) has withdrawn from the race to become a host of the 2022 Davis Cup Group Stages citing the “onerous financial and operational conditions” being required to stage the men’s national team tournament.

The FFT’s announcement comes after it launched an appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport on March 16 to have recognised its right to participate in the bidding process for the designation of the host cities of the Group Stages, scheduled for September 14 to 17, from which it claimed it had been unfairly excluded.
