Formula 1 chief executive and president Stefano Domenicali has travelled to South Africa to hold talks to advance the motor-racing championship’s long-held goal of returning a grand prix to the continent.

Domenicali has made the trip following the weekend’s Azerbaijan Grand Prix in Baku and will meet with officials from the Kyalami circuit and other stakeholders, according to multiple reports which also state that a slot on the 2023 calendar, instead of the previously reported 2024, is being targeted.
