Football clubs spent $5bn on transfer fees in summer transfer window

In a sign that the global football industry is bouncing back from the financial impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, a total of $5bn (€5bn) was spent on international transfers of male professional players in the summer transfer window, an increase of 29.7 per cent compared to the same period in 2021.
