Financial services company Fiserv has signed as a new Official Partner of Premier League club Chelsea.

SportBusiness Sponsorship understands that deal is worth about £1m (€1.1m/$1.2m) per year, putting Fiserv in the second tier of club partners behind Principal Partners Nike and Yokohama Tyres.

Formerly known as First Data, the global provider of payments and financial services technology solutions will use the sponsorship to offer unique experiences to clients on match days and throughout the year.

In addition, Fiserv will launch a community programme as part of ‘Fiserv Gives Back’, whereby children from a local hospice will be offered the opportunity to serve as a club mascot.

Fiserv Gives Back is the company’s commitment to the communities where its clients and associates live, work and play.

Chris Townsend, Chelsea commercial director, said: “Through our partnership, we will be working closely with Fiserv, as they welcome their clients to Stamford Bridge to enjoy our best-in-class matchday offering and we will assist them in creating truly once-in-a-lifetime experiences for young children from the local community.’

Since its founding 35 years ago, Fiserv serves thousands of financial institutions and millions of businesses in more than 100 countries.
