Asian Hockey Federation (AHF) chief executive Tayyab Ikram has been elected as the new president of the International Hockey Federation (FIH), seeing off the challenge of Marc Coudron.
The Pakistani official, who now resides in Macao, emerged victorious during elections held at the FIH Congress on Saturday. Of the 126 votes submitted by member national associations, Ikram secured the required absolute majority of more than half the votes, receiving 79 votes to the 47 given to Coudron.
