The Italian Football Federation (FIGC) has overturned a five-point penalty imposed on newly-promoted Serie A club Parma as a punishment in a case classed as attempted match-fixing.
Parma last month retained its top-flight status but labelled a points deduction and a two-year ban for forward Emanuele Calaio as “extremely disappointing”. Parma is currently preparing for its fairytale return to Serie A following the club’s bankruptcy in 2015. After reforming, Parma gained three consecutive promotions to finish second in Serie B last season and gain promotion to the top division.
