FC Cincinnati unveils new design for $250m soccer-specific stadium

FC Cincinnati has unveiled a new design from prominent sports architecture firm Populous for its $250m (€223m) soccer-specific stadium in the West End neighborhood of the city, which is scheduled to open in March 2021.

The facility, which will be privately funded, will have a capacity of 26,000-26,500, including a safe-standing section that will house 3,100 fans.

According to a press release, there will be 59 luxury suites, which will be the most in Major League Soccer for a venue that does not also host a National Football League team, as well as four distinct premium club areas.

FC Cincinnati, who joined MLS in 2019, will continue to play at Nippert Stadium, on the campus of the University of Cincinnati, until the new venue is completed.
