The English Football Association (FA) and Portuguese Professional Football League (LPFP) have become the latest rights-holders to issue requests for proposals for the licensing rights to non-fungible tokens (NFTs).

The FA is seeking to launch a “long-term NFT-based platform” featuring imagery, iconography and match footage related to the England men’s and women’s national teams. The association said the project is part of a wider aim to exploit its assets for the commercial benefit of the sport and to widen fan engagement.
