Michel Mimran has been appointed as the new general manager of the Ligue Nationale de Basket (LNB), the governing body  that oversees the top flight of French basketball.

Mimran (pictured) previously served as a marketing director at French Ligue 1 football club Paris Saint-Germain from 2009 to 2018.

He succeeds Christine Lombard, who arrived as general manager in February 2011.

LNB president Alain Béral said: “Given the ambitions related to the strategic plan, Michel Mimran was the ideal candidate for this demanding role. The board of directors and I look forward to working with him.”

He has also held similar roles at Lagardère Active Media TV and T Online France, as well as Darty, Cryo Interactive and Kodak. Mimran will replace Christine Lombard at the LNB.

The LNB last year approved 23 resolutions that would make up its strategic plan over the next five years. The organisation has since committed to delivering on these objectives, which include a strong commitment to digital engagement.
