European Professional Club Rugby (EPCR), organising body of the Champions Cup and Challenge Cup tournaments, has revealed that it is considering an expanded version of the former as it explores options for the 2020-21 season amid uncertainty caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.

EPCR said it is considering a number of tournament formats for next season, with the possibility of a 24-club Champions Cup having been discussed. The competition currently features 20 teams.
