The newly-elected president of the European Olympic Committees, Spyros Capralos, has pledged to do “much better work” in boosting the exposure of its flagship event, the European Games, following its proposed broadcast deal with the European Broadcasting Union consortium.
The Hellenic Olympic Committee president was elected today (Thursday) ahead of Niels Nygaard, the Danish Olympic Committee president by 34 votes to 16. He said that the deal with the EBU “will help tremendously” with the Games visibility and commercial prospects.
