England’s Euro 2022 semi-final nets 9.3m peak, Uefa hails ‘unprecedented’ figures

A peak television audience of 9.3 million watched England’s semi-final victory against Sweden in the Uefa Women’s Euro last night on the BBC, with overall viewing figures for the tournament up 58 per cent compared to the previous edition.

England’s 4-0 win against Sweden also attracted 2 million streams across the BBC iPlayer and the BBC Sport website. The 9.3 million television audience peak was the highest of the tournament so far for the BBC, surpassing the 7.6 million for the quarter-final win against Spain last Wednesday.
