Emirates Team New Zealand has announced that it has been unable to reach an agreement to stage the 37th edition of the America’s Cup sailing event in Auckland and will now commence discussions with other nations.

Emirates Team New Zealand is the reigning America’s Cup champion, having defeated Italy’s Luna Rossa in the 36th edition of the event in Auckland back in March. The defending champion holds responsibility for organising and hosting the next edition but the 37th America’s Cup will not be held in the New Zealand city.
