Eleven acquire Laver Cup rights in Belgium, Portugal and Luxembourg

Pay-television broadcaster Eleven Sports has picked up rights in Belgium, Portugal and Luxembourg to this weekend’s Laver Cup tennis tournament.

Eleven will be the exclusive linear broadcaster of the Laver Cup in Belgium and Portugal but will share rights in Luxembourg with pay-television broadcaster Sky Deutschland.

OTT rights were carved out of all Laver Cup rights deals, and last month were sold directly to tech company Amazon in over 200 countries.

Launched in 2017, the tournament is organised by Roger Federer’s Team8 Agency and the governing bodies of tennis in Australia and the US. At the time Tennis Australia – which manages media-rights distribution – told TV Sports Markets it was prioritising wide distribution over revenue.
