EHF appoints Rowland to BD and marketing role with Infront-DAZN focus

The European Handball Federation has appointed JJ Rowland to the position of senior manager of business development and marketing.

Rowland has headed up the EHF’s media and communications department for the last nine years and will now take on the new role.

Announcing the appointment, the EHF said that Rowland “will be responsible for driving forward the Infront and DAZN partnership for the EHF, coordinating the creation of a new strategic master plan and the further development of the federation’s marketing and promotion activities”.

The EHF last year sold its broadcast and sponsorship rights from 2020 to 2030 to Infront and DAZN Group in a deal worth €520m ($567m) in rights fees and services to European handball.

Rowland is succeeded as head of media and communications at the Vienna-based body by Thomas Schöneich, a member of the EHF media department since 2012.
