The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has appointed Richard Gould as its new chief executive.

Gould will take up the post at the end of January, moving from his current role as chief executive of Championship football club Bristol City, a position he has held since June 2021. Prior to this Gould had built up significant experience in cricket administration, including lengthy spells as chief executive of county clubs Surrey and Somerset.
