Eastern European Championship latest addition to Sportradar’s tennis portfolio

Sports data and content company Sportradar has announced the signing of a partnership with the Tipsarevic Tennis Academy for the duration of the Eastern European Championship 2020, which is taking place in Belgrade, Serbia.

The deal will see Sportradar provide its range of live tennis content solutions, including data collection and production, for all 352 matches that are currently scheduled to take place over the six-week period of the Championship.

Sportradar will also handle the worldwide television distribution for the event, providing live coverage of four matches each day of the week.

The Eastern European Championship will take place behind closed doors as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. Throughout the lockdown, Sportradar has worked closely with its partners to ensure the resumption of live tennis. To date, it has provided its services to the Tennis Point Exhibition Series, the Austrian and German Pro Series, and the International Tennis Series.

David Lampitt, managing director, sport partnerships at Sportradar, said: “This past few months have proved challenging for everyone in the industry. We’ve drawn on the full breadth of our resources in order to support our partners within tennis and to ensure the sport is brought back safely for everyone to enjoy.

“We’re delighted to be involved in an event of this size and profile as we continue to facilitate the return of live sport. And we’re particularly pleased to have the chance to be involved in a combined event involving top players from both the men’s and women’s Tours. The scale of it is truly unique in the current circumstances.”

Earlier this month, Sportradar announced that it will offer all 51 games of the postponed Uefa European Championship as a simulated reality betting product.
