Chinese automotive manufacturer Dongfeng Fengshen has agreed a deal with the International Table Tennis Federation to become a major partner of three major events, two of which are being staged in China.

Already a partner of the Chinese Table Tennis Association (CTTA), Dongfeng Fengshen will have exclusivity in the automobile manufacturing category for the three events, commencing with the ongoing Team World Cup, which is taking place in Tokyo, Japan.

The Team World Cup commenced yesterday (Wednesday) and runs through to Sunday. This year’s edition serves as a test event for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games and Dongfeng Fengshen joins a line-up of partners that includes Japanese agricultural giant ZEN-NOH as title sponsor and IT, networking and cybersecurity solutions firm Cisco Systems as official sponsor.

Dongfeng Fengshen will go on to support the 2019 Men’s World Cup and the World Tour Grand Finals. The former event takes place in Chengdu from November 29 to December 1, with the Grand Finals bringing the year to a close in Zhengzhou from December 12-15.

Xu Yi, head of sponsorship in China at the ITTF, said: “This represents an important part of Dongfeng Fengshen’s strategy within our sport after partnering already with CCTTA.

“We hope that the ITTF can help to grow Dongfeng Fengshen’s brand across the globe through these top-tier events, and we also hope that we can work together with them for the further development of table tennis.”
