Doha Goals signs off with project pledge

Organisers say the event attracted 2,800 accredited participants from 62 countries, along with media from 25 nations and 800 students from Qatar and the rest of the world.

They say they will take three months to select appropriate programmes, a further three months to implement them and a final five months to begin delivering results which will be discussed at the 2013 edition of Doha Goals.

Richard Attias, head of the New York-based company that organised the event in conjunction with the Qatar Olympic Committee and with the support of the country’s government, said: “We have built a community which produced so many good ideas. Now we need the commitment of that community in the weeks and months ahead as we take the next steps towards implementing projects.”
