Stadion, the UK-based digital technology company that works with various football clubs and the British Olympic Association, has recruited digital media executive James Smith from the Sportfive agency.
Smith has joined Stadion as business development director after close to five years with Sportfive (previously Lagardère Sports).
He joins Stadion after the London-based firm recently worked on the launch of the BOA’s new TeamGB website.
Stadion has also worked with Premier League sides Manchester City and Newcastle United, along with the Championship duo Bournemouth and Queens Park Rangers. It also designed Rangers’ new website as part of a long-term agreement with the Scottish Premiership club.
Smith joined Lagardère Sports in London after a short spell as business development director at InPlayer, the OTT monetisation company. In 2012, he joined Rightster, the video distribution and monetisation company, to head up business development after a long spell in the digitally-focused position of head of club partnerships at the English Football League.
