DHAKA SOCCER TOURNAMENT POSTPONED ? NEW DATES CONFIRMED

The event will now be held from January 26 to February 7.
The fifth South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) Cup was originally planned for October or November this year but was put off because of a packed international calendar and the first Afro-Asian Games in New Delhi from November 3 to 11.
India, twice winners of the SAFF Cup, wanted a postponement because it will be playing as the host country in the Afro-Asian Games soccer competition.
The new dates for the tournament was finalised at a meeting of the SAFF officials held in Colombo earlier this month, the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) said.
The SAFF Cup would be expanded to seven teams with the inclusion of Bhutan for the first time. Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Maldives, Nepal and hosts Bangladesh are the other competing teams.
