The Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) and Gerard Piqué have defended their actions after it emerged that Kosmos, the agency formed by the FC Barcelona defender, agreed a €24m ($25.9m) commission for helping to broker the deal that has seen Saudi Arabia assume hosting rights to the Supercopa de España club competition.

The agreement between the RFEF and Kosmos has been disclosed through audio files reported by Spanish newspaper El Confidencial. Their release yesterday (Monday) came after the RFEF last week claimed it was targeted by hackers who also stole emails, text messages and documents involving its leading officials before offering it to Spanish media outlets.
