Denmark pushes 2019 handball bid

Denmark – this year’s men’s Handball World Championships finalist – has submitted its bid concept to host the 2019 edition of the event.

Denmark, Germany, Japan, Macedonia, Norway, Poland, Slovakia, Sweden, Tunisia and Ukraine all sent letters of intent to the International Handball Federation (IHF) in July to host either or both the 2019 men and women’s World Championship.

The applicants also had to submit a general concept for the event including all major aspects such as playing conditions, promotion, logistics, security and sustainability to the IHF before the September 2 deadline.

The submission of the event concept bid will be followed by a technical presentation by the Danish bid team in Basel on October 11. The final presentation and the IHF hosting decisions will be made on October 28, 2013 in Doha.
