Luigi De Siervo, chief executive officer of Lega Serie A, governing body of the top division of Italian club football, has urged the Italian government to allow the extension of the domestic broadcast cycle from three to five years.
"We hope that the new government will be able to listen to this request which has become essential to allow operators to programme their investment," De Siervo told Italian business publication Il Sole 24 Ore.
