Barcelona-based brewing company Damm has moved to assume complete control of the World Padel Tour (WPT), with former Spanish tennis star Alex Corretja being installed as vice-president as the organisation continues its battle for supremacy with rival series Premier Padel.

Damm today (Thursday) announced it has reached an agreement with Rucio Investments to acquire its stake in Setpoint Events, the company that owns and manages the WPT. In this way, Damm now controls 100 per cent of the Tour, adding that the move “ratifies the firm commitment” it made in 2014 to the development and growth of padel and the creation and consolidation of a “world-class professional circuit”.
