Cricket Australia sets out plans for Big Bash revival, Brisbane 2032 inclusion

Cricket Australia has outlined the revitalisation of the Big Bash League (BBL) and the inclusion of cricket at the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games as two of its top priorities over the next five years.

The board is seeking to establish the BBL and its female equivalent, the Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL), as “the ultimate summer sport and entertainment proposition” despite the challenges the competitions face from new overseas leagues and criticism of Cricket Australia’s management of the BBL from broadcaster Seven.
