Cricket Australia is searching for a new host for the concluding Test of the forthcoming Ashes series against England, with Western Australian Cricket seeking compensation after the decision to remove hosting rights from Perth’s Optus Stadium due to pandemic-related restrictions.

CA’s decision to pull the fifth Ashes Test from Perth comes with the series set to open up tomorrow (Wednesday) at the Gabba in Brisbane. CA and WA Cricket said they had worked “closely and constructively” with the Western Australia Government and Optus Stadium over several months in order to safely stage the match amid Covid-19.
