The organisers of Cowes Week, the UK’s largest sailing event, is looking for a new title sponsor for the 2020 edition.

The property has been on the market since Lendy Ltd, the title sponsors of Cowes Week 2019, entered administration in July, leaving this year’s edition without a headline partner.

Lendy had agreed a three-year deal with Cowes Week Ltd in June 2017.

Speaking about the title sponsorship opportunity, Kate Johnson, commercial & marketing director at Cowes Week Ltd, said: “Cowes Week is one of the UK’s oldest and most successful sporting events with a history dating back to 1826.

“Alongside exclusive naming rights, a brand taking title sponsorship can also take advantage of the huge footfall that Cowes Week attracts during the day and into the evening, when boat owners and crews celebrate their post-race, après-sail moments.”

The regatta attracts 100,000 spectators and 8,000 competitors throughout the week.

In recent years, Cowes Week has grown its portfolio of premium lifestyle sponsors, alongside traditional marine and sailing names.

Brands sponsoring the 2019 event included: aql, Chatham, Fever-Tree, Land Rover, Musto, Sunsail and Slingsby Gin, sponsor of the Ladies Day.

Other drink sponsors included Westerhall Rum and Digby Fine English, who supplied English sparkling wine for some of the regatta’s official parties.
