Tennis Australia has cancelled play in the preparation tournaments for the Australian Open after a worker at one of the quarantine hotels hosting competitors tested positive for Covid-19.

Victoria state officials confirmed that a person who had worked at the Grand Hyatt Hotel hotel on January 29 had since developed symptoms and tested positive for the virus. The Grand Hyatt was one of three quarantine hotels used by players and their support teams ahead of the Grand Slam tennis tournament, which is set to begin on Monday.
