The organising committee of the 2020 winter Youth Olympic Games in Lausanne has signed up supermarket chain Coop Suisse Romande as an official partner of the event.

During the Games, which run from January 9-22, Coop Suisse Romande will support Lausanne 2020 in supplying the reception and recreational areas of the various competition sites and in the city of Lausanne.

Coop Suisse Romande will supply the various competition sites with products from its own range, including hygiene products and healthy snacks for athletes and volunteers. Coop will also be present at the ‘Lausanne en Jeux!’ festival in Lausanne with a Naturaplan bus.

Ian Logan, chief executive of Lausanne 2020, said: “Coop is a more than just an emblematic name here in Switzerland, it is one of the symbols of our country, present in all our regions. Coop is also well known for its commitment to sustainability, particularly through its Naturaplan programme.

“Coop shares the fundamental values of Lausanne 2020, so it is only natural that this partnership was built.”
