China’s Heilongjiang Province seals winter sports collaboration with LeTV

LeTV Sports, a digital platform operated by Chinese IPTV operator LeTV, has announced a strategic partnership with the sports governing body of Heilongjiang Province.

The Yutang Sports website said the agreement focuses on winter sports events and relates to venue installation, the presentation of snow and ice sports on the channel and tourism and training services.

Among the winter sports earmarked for development under the partnership are snowboarding, snow marathon and snow football.

The deal comes after Beijing on Friday won the race to host the 2022 winter Olympic Games, with China embarking on major plans to boost its winter sports development. Lei Zhenjian, chief executive at LeTV Sports, said: “The successful bid for 2022 winter Olympic Games will significantly give boosts to winter sports in China.

“The aim of the strategic partnership between LeTV Sports and Heilongjiang Province is to promote the advantageous resources and rich experiences of the latter in winter sports nation-wide through the platforms of LeTV Sports, encouraging more people to visit the place and then fall in love with snow and ice sports and the winter Olympic Games.”
