Sportswear brand Fila has become the official sportswear brand for the China Tennis Open, after signing a three-year sponsorship deal running from 2019 to 2021.

Fila will launch a line of co-branded China Open apparel and its children’s brand Fila Kids will sponsor the outfits for ball boys and girls.

The China Open is hosted annually in Beijing at the National Tennis Centre of China. It is a WTA Tour Premier Mandatory tournament and an ATP World Tour Series 500 tournament. This year’s event takes place from September 22 to October 6.

Yao Weixing, the chief executive of Anta Group Fashion and Fila Greater China, said: “We hope that through this partnership we will help more tennis enthusiasts and sports rookies, and fully support and promote the development of China’s tennis industry.”

Zhang Junhu, the director of the China Open, said: “The arrival of Fila will inject fashion and elegant aesthetic elements into the China Open, which will be a great tennis fashion feast for our fans.”

Anta Group Fashion parent company Anta Sports Products, which owns the rights to sell Fila-branded goods in mainland China, Hong Kong and Macau, reported record 2019 half-year revenues of $2.07bn (€1.87bn) in August. The results were helped by strong sales of Fila goods, which the company has been marketing aggressively.
